What does Ezekiel 47 describe coming from the sanctuary at Jerusalem?
Ezekiel 47 describes a river flowing out from beneath the sanctuary in Jerusalem. Its waters go to the Dead Sea, healing it so everything lives wherever the river comes. Fishermen will stand from En Gedi to En Eglium, spreading nets, and fish will be very many, like those of the Mediterranean.
Les explains that Ezekiel 47 is prophecy spoken in symbolism. He says it speaks of a river coming out from underneath the sanctuary there at Jerusalem, just as Zechariah also showed. When the Kingdom is set up and Christ has returned, the fishers shall stand upon it, and everything that liveth which moveth, wherever the rivers come, shall live. There shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither; they shall be healed, and everything shall live whither the river cometh. The fishermen shall stand upon it—the Dead Sea from En Gedi. Les notes that En Gedi is still a little village on the shores of the Dead Sea. Prophetically, fishermen will stand on the shores of the Dead Sea, now made alive with all the fish of the Mediterranean, from En Gedi even unto En Eglium, and there shall be a place to spread forth their nets. Their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, the Mediterranean, very many. Les says these are all physical elements.
