Les Feldick Bible Study

Where were Daniel and Revelation written?

Daniel and Revelation were both written from outside the borders of Israel. The context emphasizes that they share this distinction, being written outside Israel, just as the Apostle Paul was called on Gentile ground outside Damascus, setting him apart from the twelve.

Les explains that Daniel and Revelation are so intertwined that studying one requires going back to the other. He notes that both books were written from outside of Israel. He also draws a parallel to the twelve apostles and Paul: Jesus chose the twelve within Israel's borders, mostly in Galilee, but Paul was called on Gentile ground outside Damascus. Paul later emphasizes in Galatians 1 and 2 that he had nothing to do with the twelve in Jerusalem. This is why the Lord called him from Gentile ground and sent him to the Gentiles. Les then returns to Revelation chapter 13, verse 11, and warns against lifting verses out of context.
