What happened after Nebuchadnezzar dreamed and lost the dream?

Nebuchadnezzar tried to get his magicians to bring back the dream he had lost, but they could not. Daniel interpreted the dream, and by that interpretation he was brought to a place of preeminence in the king's kingdom. The young Jewish captive Daniel, trained for Babylonian service, was thus elevated.

Les explains that Daniel writes shortly after Nebuchadnezzar besieged and took the Jews captive from Jerusalem and Judea back to Babylon. Daniel, a young Jew, was being trained by the Babylonians for service in the king's kingdom. When Nebuchadnezzar dreamed and lost his dream, he tried to get his magicians to bring it back, but they could not. Daniel interpreted the dream, and by doing so he was brought to the place of preeminence. Les also notes that scoffers ridicule the book of Daniel, claiming it was written by an imposter long after the events, but he upholds Scripture as the proof. He references Matthew 24 as evidence.
