What did God charge Cyrus the Persian to do for him at Jerusalem?
The God of heaven charged Cyrus the Persian with the responsibility to build Him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Cyrus issued a written proclamation throughout his kingdom, stating that the Lord God of heaven had given him all the kingdoms of the earth and had charged him to build the house.
Les teaches that the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus, king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and put it in writing. Cyrus declared that the Lord God of heaven had given him all the kingdoms of the earth and had charged him with the responsibility to build Him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Les points out that this proclamation went out to the Jews who had been in Babylon for 70 years. During those 70 years, the Jews were cured of idolatry and developed a business acumen, since Babylon was the source of the banking system.
