How should believers respond to the world that opposes their beliefs?

Believers should come out from a world diabolically opposed to everything they believe and be separate, not retreat into monasteries. Scripture says, 'Come out from among them, and be ye separate,' and 'Touch not the unclean.' This separation is a distinct identity, as Abram was called to leave his country and kindred.

Les explains that because the world around us is diabolically opposed to everything believers believe, the conclusion is to come out of it. That does not mean retreating into monasteries as was done from 500 to 1500 A.D., the Dark Ages, when the Word of God was confined to the monasteries and the average man had no access. When the Word of God is withdrawn, the human race declines, as Israel did nationally when she lost contact with the Word. So believers are to come out from among those totally different from their beliefs and be separate, not touching the unclean. God promises, 'I will receive you, and I will be a father unto you.' Les points to Abram in Genesis 12, who was told to get out of his country, from his kindred, and from his father's house.
