Will Christians who are alive at the last trumpet die or be changed?
Believers alive at the last trumpet will not die physically; they will be changed. Scripture says that we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. This mortal body must put on immortality, making them fit for eternity in God's presence.
Les teaches that Paul alone reveals this secret or mystery: a group of living people will be translated, something the Old Testament never indicated and Jesus never mentioned. Paul writes that we shall not all sleep, meaning believers will not all die physically, but we shall all be changed. Those who die will experience resurrection with a new body, but living believers must also be changed, because we cannot go to glory in this old body. This change happens in a moment, in the twinkling or blink of an eye, at the last trump. The trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised incorruptible, and believers will be changed suddenly. This corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal, the body prone to die, must put on immortality, so we are made fit for eternity in God's presence and given this new body.
