Are people today like the Jews in being steeped in tradition and thinking they will make it?

Les explains that people often think of the Jews as steeped in tradition, but people today are no different. They are steeped in the tradition of the fathers and think they are going to make it. He stresses that tradition is not going to make anybody make it, and sometimes traditions have to be broken in order to come to the truth of Scripture. Peter writes that believers were not redeemed with silver and gold from their vain manner of living received by tradition, but by the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
