Do the Jewish people today realize that Jesus has already come and left?
No, the nation of Israel remains unaware that the Messiah has already come and departed. They do not realize He has been here and left. Yet they are drawing closer, beginning to long for the coming of their Messiah, as Hosea prophesied.
Les explains that the Jewish people do not realize that Christ has already come and left. He points to Hosea 5:15, where Christ says He will go and return to His place until the nation of Israel acknowledges their offense of crucifying Him and seeks His face. In their affliction, they will seek Him early. Les observes that Israel is getting closer and closer, and they are beginning to long for the coming of their Messiah. Hosea chapter 6 shows prophetically that this is exactly what has happened. Israel will return to the Lord, acknowledging that He has torn them for almost two thousand years, but they know He will heal them; He has smitten them, but He will bind them up.
