Was Paul about the same age as Jesus?
Yes. According to the chronologists referenced in the context, Paul was about the same age as Christ. When Jesus began His earthly ministry at age thirty, Saul of Tarsus was about the same age and was a young up-and-comer in Judaism.
Les teaches that chronologists he has studied indicate Paul was about the same age as Christ. When Jesus started His earthly ministry at thirty, Saul of Tarsus was also around that age, a young up-and-comer in Judaism. Though Saul and Jesus likely never crossed paths, Saul knew who Jesus was, what He did, where He came from, and all about Him. Yet Paul could say that while they once knew Christ after the flesh, henceforth they know Him no more, pointing beyond Jesus' earthly ministry to the cross and resurrection.
