What does Colossians say about Jesus Christ and the invisible God?

Colossians declares that Jesus the Christ is the visible manifestation of the invisible God. Hebrews likewise shows God speaking through His Son and making the worlds by the Son, so the invisible God is revealed and known through Jesus Christ.

Les explains that Hebrews 1 opens with God—the triune, eternal, sovereign God—who spoke in times past to the fathers by the prophets, but in these last days has spoken through His Son. The same pattern applies to creation: Genesis 1:1 says "In the beginning God," yet the rest of Scripture attributes creation to God the Son, Jesus Christ. Hebrews 1:2 says God appointed Him heir of all things and made the worlds by the Son. Then Les points to Colossians, which says Jesus the Christ is the visible manifestation of the invisible God. Thus the invisible God is revealed and known through the Son, both in speaking and in creation.
