Why did Moses' parents hide baby Moses for three months?
Moses' parents hid him for three months because of faith. They saw with spiritual eyes, not merely physical sight, and trusted that what God had promised He would fulfill. They perceived God's working in the infant and chose to defy the Egyptian command to put male babies to death.
Les teaches that it was by faith Moses was hid three months rather than being put to death as the Egyptians had commanded. Moses' parents acted by faith because they saw, not through physical eyes so much, but through spiritual eyes. They knew that what God had promised, God would fulfill, and through those eyes of faith they saw in this little infant the working of God. So they took their chances, and nothing happens by accident; this was all sovereignly unfolding as God had commanded it. The context also shows the midwives feared God and saved the men children alive, and God dealt well with them.
By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.
