Is the Passover and Red Sea crossing an illustration of the plan of salvation?
Yes. The night of the Passover and Israel's trip through the Red Sea are a perfect illustration of the plan of salvation. The Exodus account builds toward the New Testament truth, showing how those events foreshadow the salvation now revealed in Scripture.
Les explains that this is a biblical truth, and it all helps build, build, build to the plan of salvation as we now know it today. He says that when we get a little further into the book of Exodus, we will jump right back to the New Testament and show how clearly, beginning with the night of the Passover and their trip through the Red Sea and all that, it is a perfect illustration of our plan of salvation as we know it tonight. He then moves to Hebrews chapter 11, the tremendous faith chapter, and defines faith as taking God at His word. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God; you cannot exercise faith until God speaks it.
