When will the nation of Israel realize who Jesus is?
The nation of Israel will realize who Jesus is at Christ's return. Suddenly, as a nation, they will recognize the One they pierced and rejected. Zechariah 12:10 says God will pour out grace and supplications upon them, and they will mourn for Him. Every believing Jew will know He is their God and they are His people.
Les teaches that when Christ returns, the nation of Israel will suddenly, as a nation, realize who He is. This is the great event described in Zechariah 12:10, where God pours out the spirit of grace and supplications, and they shall look upon Him whom they pierced and mourn for Him. Les explains there will be a time of weeping and reunion, as the one they rejected, crucified, and killed is finally recognized as their God. The new covenant will become a reality, and every believing Jew will suddenly know that He is their God and they are His people. Les compares this to Joseph revealing himself to his brothers in Genesis 45, where there was a session of weeping as they began a great reunion. Joseph told his brothers not to be grieved or angry with themselves, because God had sent him ahead to preserve them, just as God's sovereign plan was at work.
