Who is watching out for the nation of Israel today?
The Almighty God is watching out for the nation of Israel today. Even though Israel's government is secular and the people remain in unbelief, God keeps His covenant promises made to Jacob in Genesis. He holds the nations in check and protects Israel, as shown in the Six-Day War, because they are His covenant people.
Les explains that the nation of Israel today is just as secular as any other government and no more godly. Yet the Almighty God is watching out for that little nation because of His covenant promises. God loves the Arab as much as the Jew, and the American as much as the Middle Easterner, because this is the day of grace. But God has delineated Israel as His covenant people and will bring all His Genesis promises to fruition. That is why Israel is in the news and no one dares attack them, even though outnumbered. Les points to the Six-Day War in 1967: Israel was invaded from four directions, yet in hours they turned the tide and destroyed the Arab armies. That was the miracle working of a sovereign God, even though they are in unbelief. Just as Jacob was under God's protection and blessing while still an unbeliever, so too the nation is protected.
