At what age did Jacob get the birthright from Esau?

Jacob was 24 years old when he acquired the birthright from Esau by selling him a bowl of red bean soup. At that same age, Esau placed no importance on the birthright, and no enmity was created between them from that transaction.

Les explains that when Jacob and Esau were 24 years old, Jacob obtained the birthright by selling Esau a bowl of red bean soup. At that point Esau saw no importance whatsoever in the birthright, so no enmity was created between them over it. Les notes that 16 years after Jacob took the birthright, Esau married Canaanite women at age 40, which was a grief of mind to Isaac and Rebekah. Les also points out that it was 37 years from the time they were 24 and Jacob got the birthright until Jacob connived with his mother to get the blessing and had to flee.
