What are the two fillings running side by side in Luke 21?
Running side by side are two great fillings: the filling up of the body of Christ and the filling up of the cup of the iniquity of the Gentiles, or the world in general. These concurrent fillings are set in Luke 21.
Les teaches that Luke 21 presents two great fillings running concurrently, side by side. One is the filling up of the body of Christ, which is the calling out a people for His name, the body of Christ, mentioned back in Acts chapter 15. The other is the filling up of the cup of the iniquity of the Gentiles, or the world in general. In Romans chapter 11, verse 25, Paul lays out that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in. When the body of Christ is full, that period ends, God removes the body, and He picks up where He left off with His covenant people, Israel.
