What events mark the end of the tribulation in Luke 21?

The end of the tribulation is marked by signs in the sun, moon, and stars, distress of nations with perplexity, roaring seas, and men's hearts failing for fear as the powers of heaven are shaken. Then the Son of Man is seen coming in a cloud with power and great glory, signaling redemption and the kingdom of God near.

Les explains that the cosmic disturbances and earthly distress described in Luke 21—signs in the sun, moon, and stars; nations in perplexity; roaring seas; hearts failing for fear; and the powers of heaven shaken—mark the end of the tribulation. Immediately after, those still living on the planet will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. When these things begin, believers are told to look up and lift their heads because redemption draws near. Les notes this is addressed to Jews, the nation of Israel in particular. The fig tree lesson reinforces that when these things come to pass, the kingdom of God is nigh at hand, as the Son of Man returns to Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives.
