What happened when Paul returned to Jerusalem after 14 years?
After fourteen years, Paul went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas and Titus. At the Jerusalem council, he was called on the carpet for preaching salvation to Gentiles. The account points to Acts chapter 15, though the full proceedings are not recounted.
Les teaches that after Paul spent three years down in Sinai and came back up into the area of Cilicia, 14 years later he came back to Jerusalem. Les says this is picked up in Acts chapter 15, called the council in Jerusalem, where they are going to call Paul on the carpet for preaching salvation to Gentiles. Paul himself says, 'So 14 years after, I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas and took Titus with me.' Les notes that passage can be read later because the program does not take time to examine it. He then returns to Acts chapter 11 to remind listeners that the Jews were under intense persecution brought about by old Saul of Tarsus, forcing them to flee. Les points back to Acts chapter 8, verse 1, where Saul was consenting to Stephen's death, and a great persecution arose against the assembly at Jerusalem. He stresses that when Scripture says 'they were all,' it meant all Jewish believers, because he is a stickler for the words of Scripture.
And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
