Will heaven be boring?
Heaven will not be boring. Eternity is a viable exercise and a place of intense activity, free from present problems, tribulations, and sorrows. The thousand-year reign of Christ merely introduces the eternal setting—the new heaven and new earth—where the kingdom economy continues forever.
Les explains that when he was young, it almost scared him to death that heaven would be boring—sitting on a cloud, strumming a harp, doing nothing but shouting hallelujah or holy, holy, holy. He says that will certainly be part of it, but eternity is going to be a viable exercise and a place of intense activity, albeit without the problems, tribulations, and sorrows we have now. The earthly kingdom promised to Israel is limited to a thousand years in Revelation, but that millennial reign of Christ is merely the introduction for the eternal setting. Revelation chapter 21 brings the new heaven and new earth, and this whole kingdom economy will move right on into eternity. So heaven is quite the opposite of boring and monotonous.
