Who is primarily responsible for the success or failure of a marriage or home?
The husband is primarily responsible for the success or failure of a marriage and home. In scriptural teaching on marriage and the home, especially Ephesians 5, the man is held accountable for whether the home survives, and this is presented as the primary responsibility.
Les teaches that when a home survives or does not survive, he blames the man. He directs this especially to young men and single people, using Ephesians chapter 5 where Paul deals with the marriage relationship. While acknowledging there may be alternatives, he states that for the most part the success or failure of the home or marriage is primarily the man’s responsibility. He also connects marriage and home to man’s primary reason for being created: God wants a creature He can love who will return that love. Because marriage and the home mirror that relationship, they are under ferocious satanic attack.
