What was God's sole purpose in creating mankind?
God's sole purpose in creating mankind was to have someone with whom He could fellowship and to whom He could extend love for all eternity. By giving mankind a will, the Creator made it possible for humans to choose obedience and thereby return love to their Creator.
Les explains that mankind is the very epitome and crowning act of creation, made in God's image and given a will so people can choose obedience or disobedience. Adam was created sinless, perfect, with body, soul, and spirit in fellowship with God. Unlike the angels, who were never beings God could fellowship with or have love extended and returned, mankind was created for the sole purpose that, by choosing obedience to his Creator, the Creator would have someone He can fellowship with and extend love to for all eternity. The concept is illustrated by the attitude of marriage in the human relationship.
