Why does the Jewish person avoid and struggle with Paul's writings?

Paul's letters are directed primarily to Gentiles in the Body of Christ, not to Israel under the Law. Because they are not addressed to the Jew, the Jewish person often avoids them like a plague and struggles to comprehend them, since they concern a different calling and audience.

Les explains that the Jew today has a hard time comprehending Paul and just avoids it like a plague, because it is not written to the Jew; it is written to the Gentile. Paul became the apostle of the Gentiles, and his church letters are directed primarily to Gentiles in the Body of Christ, regarding their heavenly position. By contrast, the Old Testament was spoken to the Jew under the Law, and that distinction of audience makes all the difference. Since Gentiles are not under the Law and not Jews, the Jewish reader faces a different addressee and calling in Paul's writings.
