What kind of promises do believers as a heavenly people have?
Believers as a heavenly people possess heavenly promises. According to Colossians 1:13, God the Father has delivered them from the power of darkness and has translated them into the kingdom of His dear Son, which is presently in Heaven. Such promises were never given to Israel, showing the Church’s unique heavenly connection.
Les explains that the Body of Christ is the heavenly people, called out while Israel is in spiritual blindness. He points to Colossians 1:13, where God the Father has delivered believers from the power of darkness and has already translated them into the kingdom of His dear Son. That kingdom is in Heaven, giving believers a heavenly connection and heavenly promises. Israel was never told something like this. Before Israel’s eyes are opened and the nation is born in a day, the Church must be brought to the full, with the last person brought in.
