Are the promises to Israel earthly or heavenly?

Israel's promises are earthly, not heavenly. From Abraham onward, Israel was a special, called-out, separated covenant people whose promises were earthly, and they are called God's earthly people. Even in resurrection as believers they will be an earthly people, not a heavenly people.

Les teaches that God separated Abraham from the mainstream of humanity and promised that from that one man would come a distinctive race and nation, Israel. From the very onset of the promise to Abraham until Israel was dispersed after rejecting their king, Israel had it constantly drummed into their mindset that they were a special, called-out, separated, covenant people of God, and all their promises were earthly. Therefore they are called God's earthly people. Les clarifies that an Old Testament saint who died went to paradise, not to stay on earth, and today a believing Jew goes to paradise, his place of reward. But in their resurrected state, when Jews experience resurrection as believers, they will not be a heavenly people; they will be an earthly people. Even in their life in the flesh, all of Israel's promises were earthly, which is why many had tremendous wealth, and Abraham was a wealthy man.
