What happened to Judaism after the Law was given to Moses?
After the Law was given to Moses around 1500 B.C., Judaism as a religion entered a constant state of degeneration, declining like entropy. By Christ’s earthly ministry it had become a dead, man-made religion with no power of God left in it, though temple worship continued.
Les teaches that from the Law given to Moses, Judaism as we now term the religion was in a constant state of degeneration. He compares this to entropy, where things always move into a less usable state, and notes that very seldom does something reach perfection and stay there. Coming through the prophets to Christ’s earthly ministry, it was nothing but a dead, man-made religion with nothing left of God’s power. They still went through temple worship, but Les points to Isaiah 1, where even Israel’s religion came up into God’s nostrils as a stench. He warns that church services today can be the same when mankind follows its own devices.
