Les explains that after Jesus was crucified and resurrected, He walked among the disciples for forty days. He showed Himself alive after His passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days. Les points out that in that whole forty-day period, there was really only one topic of conversation: the Kingdom of God. Les differentiates the Kingdom of God as the whole sphere of God's influence and sovereignty, while the Kingdom of Heaven is the glorious earthly kingdom promised to Israel. The Eleven asked if He would at that time restore the Kingdom to Israel, referring to that earthly Kingdom over which their Messiah would one day rule and reign.
