Why did Jesus limit His ministry and not go to the Gentiles?
Jesus limited His ministry to Israel because He came to the nation of Israel in the earthly promises of the covenant made with Abraham and its later covenants. He commanded the twelve not to go to Gentiles or Samaritans but to the lost sheep of the house of Israel, with only two exceptions.
Les teaches that Christ's earthly ministry was confined to His earthly people, Israel. In Matthew 10:5-6, Jesus sent the twelve and commanded them, 'Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter you not. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.' The reason is that He came to the nation of Israel in the earthly promises of the covenant made with Abraham, including later covenants such as the Davidic, Mosaic, and Palestinian covenants. There were only two exceptions to this restriction; one is the account in Matthew 15:21 where Jesus departed into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, on the Mediterranean sea coast in what is now known as Lebanon.
