Les Feldick Bible Study

Why did Jesus stay within the borders of Palestine and not go to Gentile nations?

Jesus stayed within the borders of Palestine because He came to fulfill the Abrahamic promises and covenant to Israel. The word was sent to the children of Israel first, and His ministry was confined to the land of the Jews and Jerusalem, not Egypt, Syria, Babylon, or Africa.

Les explains that the audience was so separated they said the speaker was not fit to live simply because he mentioned the word Gentile. That separation was what God had instructed for Israel. Then in Acts chapter 10, Peter tells Cornelius that God is no respecter of persons and that in every nation those who fear Him and work righteousness are accepted, yet the word God sent was still to the children of Israel first. Peter says Jesus ministered in the land of the Jews and Jerusalem. He did not go to Egypt, Syria, Babylon, or Africa. He stayed within Palestine/Israel because He came to fulfill the Abrahamic promises and the covenant.
