Which empire will Christ destroy first at His Second Coming?
At His Second Coming, Christ will first destroy the revived Roman Empire, the end-time Gentile empire contemporary with that day. The image's feet of iron and clay represent this final empire, and the returning Christ smashes it first, since the roller begins at the feet, not the head.
Les explains that as the whole Gentile system prepares for its demise at the Second Coming of Christ, the image is smashed starting with the feet. If the image is standing and a roller comes to smash it, it will not start at the head but at the feet. Therefore Christ will first destroy the empire contemporary with that day, which is the revived Roman Empire. Within this revived Roman Empire are the remains of previous empires: Babylon promoted banking, business, and usury; the Medes and Persians left attributes still with us; and much Greek culture was integrated by Rome because it was profitable. Les also warns to watch Western Europe, because it is coming up and will become the empire of the world.
