What happens to the Lord's kingdom in relation to other kingdoms in the last days?
In the last days, the Lord’s kingdom will be established on top of the mountains and exalted above the hills, meaning it will be above all other kingdoms. Smaller kingdoms may exist among Gentile nations, yet all nations will flow into His kingdom, with Jerusalem as the center of worldwide activity.
Les explains from Isaiah chapter 2, verse 2, that the last days refer to the final thousand years, the final dispensation when all things are consummated. In Old Testament symbolism a mountain is a kingdom, so the Lord’s house being established in the top of the mountains and exalted above the hills means His kingdom will be above all other kingdoms. Les notes that under His rule He will establish other smaller kingdoms among the Gentile nations, but His kingdom will be exalted above them. All nations shall flow into it because it will be the hub of the planet. Jerusalem, the capital of this earthly kingdom, will be the center of the whole world’s activity. Earlier, Les also says the earthly promises will be amalgamated with the heavenly promises of the Church under one umbrella of Christ, yet they will not be mixed; they maintain separate entities under the headship of Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords.
And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
