Is the Church looking for the Rapture rather than the Second Coming?

Yes. The Church is to look for the Rapture, the outcalling of the Body of Christ, rather than the Second Coming. This expectation rests on Paul's revelation, for the Rapture is strictly Pauline and not mentioned elsewhere. Before the Second Coming occurs, the Church is removed, because it will not fit the Tribulation, which concerns God dealing with Israel.

Les explains that when he reads materials focused on the Second Coming, they ignore the Apostle Paul. He emphasizes that believers are not concerned with the Second Coming but with the outcalling of the Body of Christ, the Rapture, which is strictly a Pauline revelation. All the rest of Scripture speaks of the Second Coming, and it is coming, but before it happens the Church is out of here. The Church will not fit the Tribulation scenario, like a square peg in a round hole, because the Tribulation is God dealing with Israel and comes out of Old Testament prophecy. Paul mentions it only in II Thessalonians chapter 2, making plain that after we have departed, then shall appear that man of sin, and the Tribulation, and all the rest of it.
