Who was the mystery revealed to, and why?

The mystery was revealed to the Apostle Paul, described as the least of all saints. It was revealed so that all men might see the fellowship of the secret, which had been hidden in God from the beginning of the age and was not made known before.

Les teaches that the mystery was revealed to the Apostle Paul, the one identified as the least of all saints. The purpose was to make all men see what is the fellowship of the secret, which from the beginning of the age had been hid in God, the same God who created all things by Jesus Christ. This whole package of revealed truth comes from the pen of this man. Les explains that it includes redemption through the atoning blood of Christ, justification, forgiveness, the indwelling Holy Spirit, and baptism by the Holy Spirit into the Body of Christ. That term, the Body of Christ, is found only in Paul's writing. It is a revelation of a mystery never mooted before: a sudden outcalling in which every believer, black or white, rich or poor, east or west, becomes a member of the Body of Christ.
