How do some Christians treat Paul's epistles compared to the Gospels and Old Testament?

Some Christians devote about 90% of their time to the Gospels and the Old Testament while treating Paul's epistles almost like waste paper. They regard Paul like an unlovely stepchild, reluctant to have anything to do with him, yet forced to admit he is there, even though God's secrets were revealed through him.

Les explains that these believers spend 90% of their time in the Gospels and the Old Testament, and they look at Paul's epistles like almost a piece of waste paper. He recalls a fellow rancher saying they treat you like an unlovely stepchild. Les says that is how they treat Paul—like an unlovely stepchild they really do not want anything to do with, but they have to admit he is there, and he sees it all the time. Yet he stresses this is where we have to be, because it was to this man that the secrets held in the mind of God were finally revealed. He then points to Ephesians 3:8-9 and notes that the word unsearchable cannot find its beginning; it goes back so far it cannot be traced, and it began before Christ ever created anything.
