What results from appropriating God's grace?
By faith, God's freely given grace yields abounding wisdom and prudence, along with the abundant life when wisdom is joined with good common horse sense. It is given here and now, more than believers can handle, and the more they believe, the more He blesses, because faith pleases God.
Les explains that God has given all this to believers free for nothing. They have not had to grovel in the ground, climb steps to St. Peter, or go across the ocean; He has given it here and now, and it is abounding, more than we can handle. The way believers appropriate it is by faith. Les says he does not always feel or sense it, but he comes back to the Word, believes it, and that is what God is looking for. The more we believe, the more He will bless us, because nothing pleases God's heart more than human faith. Unbelief is what God will hold in the strongest light against mankind, and the opposite of unbelief is faith. Having appropriated His grace, believers are abounding in wisdom and prudence. Christendom's problem is that it lacks that kind of wisdom; people may be saved but flounder in ignorance of the Scriptures.
