What did God make known to us according to Ephesians 1:9?

According to Ephesians 1:9, God made known unto us the mystery, or the secret, of His will. This revealing was according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Himself. The context explains that God kept things secret until He saw fit to reveal them.

Les explains that a secret is something nobody else knows anything about, and secret things belong unto the Lord our God. Yet the things revealed are made known by revelation, as Moses spoke of things revealed unto Israel. The same God has kept things secret until He saw fit to reveal them. Ephesians 1:9 says He has made known unto us the mystery, or the secret, of His will, according to His good pleasure, which He has purposed in Himself. Everything starts and finishes in the mind of God.
