Does the abundant life mean God will give you wealth and a big house?
No. The abundant life Christ promised is not material wealth or the biggest house. It does not mean two Cadillacs in the garage. It is redemption, eternal life, the hope of glory, constant assurance, access to the throne room, and joy regardless of circumstances.
Les explains that the abundant life Christ promised for this earthly sojourn is not measured by two Cadillacs in the garage or the biggest house in town. It is the assurance that He is in total control of every moment, freedom from worry and guilt, redemption, eternal life, the hope of glory, constant assurance that He knows all about us, and access into the throne room of heaven so we can pray anytime, anyplace. Circumstances may not always be the greatest, but the joy is there, as Paul rejoiced even in the dungeon, shipwreck, water, and scourging.
