What does Second Thessalonians chapter 2 say will happen after the departure of the church?

Scripture states that once the church has departed, the wicked one shall be revealed. This event follows the catching up of believers to meet the Lord in the air, as described in First Thessalonians chapter 4, where they remain with Him forever.

Les explains that First and Second Thessalonians are earlier letters that are final in their content and take the Word up to glory. First Thessalonians chapter 4 promises that believers will be caught up to meet Him in the air and so shall ever be with the Lord. Second Thessalonians chapter 2 then says that after the departure of the church, that wicked one shall be revealed. Together these two letters take us on up to the fruition of everything, when we will finally be in glory with our Crucified, Resurrected, and Ascended Lord.
