What problems in the Corinthian church required the reproof of I and II Corinthians?

The Corinthian church struggled with immorality, dissension, divisions, legal disputes among members, and disagreements over what could or could not be eaten. Because the congregation was beset by these many problems, I and II Corinthians were written to reprove them, and they remain appropriate for believers today.

Les teaches that after Romans, the doctrinal book, the next two letters were for reproof. When he studied the Corinthian letters, he asked what they needed reproof in and said it was all their problems. They had immorality, dissension in the Church, divisions, problems with legal matters with one another, and problems about what they could eat and what they couldn't eat. The Church was beset with all kinds of problems, so those two letters of I and II Corinthians were used to reprove them. Even so, Les notes they are still appropriate for us today. In the broader order, Galatians follows as the book for correction, addressing legalism.
