What percentage of preachers don't believe Jesus is God?
According to a national magazine survey cited in the transcript, 89% of surveyed preachers and pastors answered no when asked whether they believed in the deity of Christ, meaning they did not believe Jesus was God. The same survey reported 99% denying the Second Coming.
Les explains that he was shown something hard to comprehend: a national magazine took a survey of preachers and pastors across the land. One question asked, "Do you believe in the Deity of Christ?"—in other words, do you believe that Jesus Christ was God? The answer was no from 89% of the respondents; 89% of those preachers and pastors did not believe that Jesus was God. Another question asked, "Do you believe in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ?" and 99% answered no. Les calls these things shocking.
