How long was it from Adam to the Flood?

From the creation of Adam to Noah’s Flood was 1,600 years. The chronology places Adam’s creation around 4004 B.C. and the Flood around 2400 B.C., so the span from Adam to the Flood is given in round figures as 1,600 years.

Les explains that going back from the time of Christ’s birth at Bethlehem to the creation of Adam reaches about 4000 B.C., with Adam created in 4004 B.C. He then states that Adam’s race and that whole generation up to the Flood covered a period of 1,600 years. He always tells people this is in round figures, not necessarily the exact year, but the Flood took place at 2400 B.C., which is 1,600 years after Adam. This whole 1,600-year period from Adam’s creation until the generation destroyed by Noah’s Flood is covered in the first 11 chapters of Genesis.
