What is the immediate answer to prayer in Philippians 4:7?

The immediate answer to prayer in Philippians 4:7 is the peace of God. Whether God answers no, yes immediately, or later, the believer rises from prayer with God's peace, because God is in control and calms the situation. This peace is the immediate answer, not necessarily the requested outcome itself.

Les teaches that Philippians 4:6-7 are the two best verses for someone in need. Prayer is to be made with thanksgiving: thank the Lord in advance for what He will do, then let the request be made known to God. In verse 7, whether God answers no, immediately, or says maybe later, there is an immediate answer. The minute the person gets up from the prayer place, the prayer is answered because of the peace of God. As a believer in the Spirit-filled walk, this is the peace of God, not merely peace with God at salvation. Under whatever circumstances, God is there calming the situation and saying, I'm in control.

Philippians 4:7

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
