What do love, joy, and peace represent in the believer's life?

Love, joy, and peace are the first three fruits of the Spirit, representing the inner results of salvation in the believer's life. They are what a believer can experience simply by believing the Gospel, and they form part of the abundant life, enhancing life rather than opposing it.

He stresses that believers are not saved merely as a fire escape from hell; they are saved to have life abundantly. These fruits are part of that abundant life, and against such things there is no law—nothing can oppose them. They are attributes that enhance life.
