Why are we saved according to Les?
Salvation is not merely a fire escape or just escape from hell fire. Believers are also saved to do as Jesus said: to have life and have it more abundantly. That abundant life is experienced through the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, and peace—the inner results of salvation.
Les teaches that salvation is not only an escape from hell fire. He says we aren't saved "just as a fire escape." Instead, we are also saved so that, as Jesus said, we may have life and have it more abundantly. This abundant life is pictured in the nine fruits of the Spirit, beginning with love, joy, and peace, which are the inner results of salvation in the believer. These fruits are what we can experience simply as a result of having believed the Gospel, and they enhance life, unlike the pandemonium produced by the works of the flesh mentioned in the previous program.
