Why do most people not commit the sins listed in Romans 1?

The vast majority of people restrain the sins listed in Romans 1 because of inhibition and training. Those influences keep such behavior under control. Yet this does not remove the underlying sin nature; when control is lost, any of these sins can surface, as newspapers and daily reports demonstrate.

Les explains that Romans 1 exposes the true sin nature of man, and that this is not a pretty picture. He notes that the vast majority of people, by inhibition and training, are able to keep these things under control. But when they lose control, any of these sins can appear, and newspapers are full of it. He then connects this to verse 30—despiteful, backbiters, haters of God, boasters, inventors of evil things—and takes the reader back to Genesis 6:5, where God saw man's wickedness was great and every imagination of his heart was only evil continually. Les relates this to Jesus' words about the days of Noah and says we are getting there fast.
