Les Feldick Bible Study

What happens when a believer's spirit withdraws from the battle line?

When a believer’s spirit withdraws from the battle line, old Adam immediately seizes the opportunity, comes in, and begins controlling the acts of the body. The believer then naturally sins. This is why the spirit must stay exercised by the Word, prayer, and Christian fellowship to control bodily activity.

Les teaches that we all fail and fall. If the spirit part of us suddenly withdraws and comes away from the battle line, old Adam immediately jumps at the opportunity and begins to control the acts of the body, causing believers to sin naturally. Believers do sin, and we cannot get away from that. Therefore, the spirit must be kept exercised by the Word, by prayer, and by Christian fellowship, which enables us to pretty much control the activity of the body. Even though the two natures are contrary one to another, being led of the Spirit means you are not under the Law.
