Why does the Bible call the law perfect if it cannot save us?

The law is called perfect because it comes from God’s viewpoint and expresses His very mind, righteousness, and holiness, being best for mankind’s benefit. Yet it cannot save because from the human standpoint it is weak through the flesh; sinful humanity cannot fulfill it, so God sent His Son to fulfill its righteousness.

Les teaches that the law is perfect from God’s viewpoint because it was the very mind of God expressed, revealing His righteousness and holiness and being the best for mankind’s benefit and good. But from the human standpoint, the law was weak, and it was a yoke. The Ten Commandments could not do what needed to be done because they were weak through the flesh. God therefore sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemning old Adam in the flesh, so that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled. This is why law and grace must not be confused: we cannot do it, but God can.
