What is the old nature like according to the Bible?
The old nature, also called the old Adam or the flesh, declares war on the new nature and is contrary to the Spirit. Its god is Satan, and it is bent toward rebellion and unbelief, totally opposed to God's righteousness, holiness, and laws, creating constant warfare in every believer.
Les teaches that the old nature, or old Adam, is the flesh that wars against the Spirit. The new nature has to declare war on the old nature, so there is a constant battle. These two forces within every believer are contrary and at total odds; they cannot agree on anything. The new nature has a whole new set of values in compliance with the righteousness, holiness, and laws of God. The old nature, whose god is Satan and the god of this world, is bent in rebellion and unbelief. Because they are opposites and war constantly, you cannot do the things that you would. This battle lines are defined from salvation until death or the Rapture.
