What sent Jesus to the cross according to this teaching?

The love of Christ sent Him to the cross. Scripture presents Christ Jesus, who being in the form of God, made Himself of no reputation and took upon Himself the form of a servant, or bond slave. He poured out His love for us, and that love is the stated motivation.

Les explains that the love of Christ is what sent Him to the cross. In Galatians 5, Paul warns against being entangled again with the yoke of bondage and says circumcision profits nothing, because justification is not by law but by faith working through love. Les then points to Philippians 2:5-7, where Christ Jesus, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, yet made Himself of no reputation and took the form of a servant, or bond slave. That self-humbling love for us is the motivation he emphasizes.
