What does the Gospel do for believers in relation to the Law?

The Gospel delivers believers from the Law, since the Law, being dead, no longer holds them. It frees them to serve in newness of spirit rather than in the oldness of the letter. The Law had condemned and worked motions of sins unto death, but believers are now released from that system.

Les teaches that as a result of the Gospel, believers are delivered from the Law, which was holding them. In the old Adam, or the flesh, the motions of sins were by the Law and worked in the members to bring forth fruit, not unto God, but unto death. The Law constantly condemned the Jew and put him down as guilty. But now the old system of Law is crucified, dead, and gone as far as God is concerned. Therefore believers should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. Israel still has a veil because they could never understand that the Law was now finished and done, and they still try to keep it today.

Romans 7:6

But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
