Why did the Galatian churches disappear from history?

The Galatian churches disappeared because they turned away from Paul and fell under legalism, refusing to stay with his simple Gospel of Grace. Several years later Paul wrote that all in Asia had turned against him. None of those churches survived; they fell into the dust of history.

Les teaches that the letter to the Galatians had almost no long-term effect on the Galatian congregations. Though it is part of the Word of God and good for us, it evidently fell on pretty much deaf ears. In 2 Timothy 1, Paul says that all they in Asia, which would include Galatia, turned away from him. Les suggests they all fell under legalism, and consequently none of those churches survived. They fell into the dust of history because they refused to stay with Paul's simple Gospel of Grace. Les adds that this is sad, but the world has not changed; people still almost ridicule the concept of faith plus nothing.
